~Escape to Detoxification~ (Light Pressure Lymphatic Massage)

Detox Massage is great for detoxification, fatigue and general well-being. The Lymphatic System has no pump, its nourishing, water balancing eliminative functions are dependent upon muscle contractions, diaphragmatic breathing and body movements. It is common to develop a somewhat sluggish lymphatic flow from inactivity, consumption of inappropriate food and beverages and reduced water intake. All these factors stress the Lymphatic System.

Detox Massage is a light technique designed to stimulate the circulation of lymph to speed up the removal of wastes from all over the body. It works wonderfully on the nervous system by reducing sympathetic activity, stimulating the defense of the immune system and increasing the flow and volume of lymph fluid.

~Escape to Serenity~ (Swedish Massage)

Escape to a calm and relaxing place where peace and tranquility reside within your body. Swedish massage techniques include: long strokes, kneading, friction, tapping, percussion, vibration, effleurage, and shaking motions. The usual sequence of techniques are:

  1. Effleurage: Gliding strokes with the palms, thumbs and/or fingertips
  2. Petrissage: Kneading movements with the hands, thumbs and/or fingers
  3. Friction: Circular pressures with the palms of hands, thumbs and/or fingers
  4. Vibration: Oscillatory movements that shake or vibrate the body
  5. Percussion: Brisk hacking or tapping
  6. Passive and active movements: Bending and stretching

Benefits of Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is relaxing and invigorating. It affects the nerves, muscles, glands, and circulation, while promoting health and well being.

~Escape to Sanctuary~ (Deep Tissue)

Find refuge deep within and allow yourself to release the defenses that inhibit daily activity and love of life. The human body protects itself by tensing certain muscles to foster a weak area, but this only causes pain and discomfort which we can sometimes feel at certain times or throughout our every day lives. Deep tissue massage  incorporates techniques such as myofascial release, trigger point therapy, muscle energy techniques, lymphatic drainage and Cyriax cross-fiber friction to help treat chronic pain and deeper muscles involved in postural dysfunction and traumatic injuries. My clients’ have expressed that this massage feels like being pulled apart and put back together again in the proper order, creating a comfortable feeling of being in your own body.

~Escape to Vitality~ (Sports and Orthopedic Massage)

The main purpose of sports and orthopedic massage is to help alleviate the stress and tension which builds up in the body’s soft tissues during physical activity. Where minor injuries and lesions occur, due to overexertion and/or overuse, massage can break them down quickly and effectively. The massage will help prepare the athlete for peak performance, to drain away fatigue, to relieve swelling, to reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and to prevent injuries. Sports massage can help prevent those nagging injuries that so often get in the way of performance and achievement. No matter what your athletic aptitude, this massage will help to increase endurance and continuity of athletic stamina and power.

~Escape to Enlightenment~ (Integrative Therapeutic Massage)

Integrative massage is a unique modality developed at the Boulder College of Massage Therapy over twenty years ago. Its roots drawing from Neo-Reichian elements, it has evolved into a comprehensive therapy for body, mind and spirit. With a focus on breath, movement, physical sensation, sound, verbal interaction, and creative integrative strokes, we seek to open the body from its armoring and holding patterns.

There are three principles followed in integrative work: mindfulness, embodiment, and holism. Supporting these principles are intentions and strategies, which help the therapist co-create an integrative session with a client. The ultimate goal is to help the client become more embodied and aware of their sensations, breath and energy. With this awareness comes the opportunity for change along with a greater sense of themselves as a human spirit.

~Escape to Rejuvenation~ (Cold Stone Massage)

Cold stone massage provides stress relief and helps the body to relax. It also helps the mind let go of anxiety and trauma. A cold stone massage is helpful for sporting injuries, swelling and inflammation.  The cool stones, coupled with the soothing impact of human touch, help to calm the body. Stone massage is an ancient art that is now in vogue again. Certain patients should avoid this type of massage, however, including anyone with a heart ailment, skin that is easily inflamed or sensitivity to cold temperatures. These potential massage clients should check with their doctor before undergoing a cold stone massage.

Cold Stone Massage

Alleviate Anxiety

Smooth marble stones are often used for this therapy. A cold stone massage may help to alleviate anxiety, and when placed on the body, the marble stones help the mind focus on the body rather than dwell on mental stress.

Soothe Sinus Problems

Sinus problems may be soothed with cold stone massage. The stones are placed on top of a cloth placed over the face to protect the skin. The cold temperature of the stones may work to alleviate nasal swelling and reduce sinus congestion.

Ease Menstrual Symptoms

Menstrual pain and bloating may be calmed with a cold stone massage. Cold stones placed in the abdominal area will help draw swelling away from the uterus and thus may help lessen menstrual discomfort.

Boost Circulation

A cold stone massage may help to improve circulation. Cold marble stones placed at strategic locations on the body may work to improve the overall circulation of the body. A cold stone massage may also work to reduce high blood pressure as well.

Treat Sports Injuries

Sports injuries, such as tendinitis, may benefit from treatment with cold stone massage. Cryotherapy (cold therapy) soothes inflammation of muscles and joints by radiating through the pained area and reducing swelling.

Revitalize Energy Levels

Energy levels may be revitalized after a cold stone massage. The cool stones, which hold and radiate temperature well, help contract the muscles, alleviate bloating and boost energy levels throughout the body.

~Escape to Evanescence~ (Warm Stone Therapy)

Warm Stone is a luxurious massage combined with deep heat therapy from soothing, smooth basalt stones warmed in a bath of heated water and applied with aromatic oils in long flowing strokes over the body. It’s the perfect treatment for loosening stiff and sore muscles while at the same time providing very positive energy flow thus promoting a sense of calm and tranquility. Feel the stress and pain melt away.

~Escape to Tranquility~ (Corporate Chair Massage)

Allow your busy workday to be interrupted by a relaxing and rejuvenating chair massage. Employers have rapidly begun to understand the importance of stress relief in the workplace because stress-free employees have a higher retention rate and increased rates of productivity.

Corporate chair massage involves the visit of a Licensed Massage Therapist for on-site massage sessions. The therapist brings along a portable massage chair and usually gives 15 to 20 minute massages for all interested employees. Employees enjoy getting a break from the monotony of their day and can go back to work with increased mental focus and clarity and reduced levels of stress and anxiety.

Event Chair Massage

Want your next marketing event to be a big hit? Chair Massage draws prospects to your booth and makes sure they leave with a positive feeling about your company.

Chair Massage Remains Affordable Despite Tough Economic Times

Many people are experiencing added stress due to their unexpected, altered financial status as they watch their savings accounts dwindle while the cost of living rises. In these difficult economic times, it is important to keep stress from building to a point where it interferes with your physical and emotional health. Chair massage is an effective and affordable way to alleviate tension and stay healthy.

Place receiving a regular massage on your priority list, and you will realize the benefits far outweigh the expense incurred. Improved emotional and physical benefits will add quality to your life. An energized, healthier person can face whatever challenges come far better than one who is anxious and/or depressed, tense and/or in pain.

Benefits of Chair Massage:

These combined benefits can help to promote emotional and physical health.

  1. Massage reduces the release of the stress hormone cortisol, which is a factor in weight gain and depression.
  2. Therapeutic massage stimulates the release of serotonin, which combats the effects of increased cortisol and helps to maintain a state of emotional well-being.
  3. Massage is also an effective treatment for insomnia, and can help to reduce pain stemming from injuries or poor posture.
  4. The immune system benefits from the enhanced drainage of lymphatic fluids, which carry toxins from the body.
  5. Massage improves circulation, which helps to nourish the body’s muscles and tissues.

For those who consider a traditional massage to be too expensive or time consuming, chair massage is a wonderful way to receive all of the benefits of massage therapy without breaking the bank. A Licensed Massage Therapist, who uses a specially designed massage chair, performs chair massage in a concentrated session, generally lasting 10-30 minutes. Oils are not used directly on the skin, which allows the client to remain fully dressed. The massage chair can support clients of all sizes and is designed to elongate the muscles of the back. The therapist concentrates on the back, neck, shoulders, arms and hands, relieving pain and releasing tension.
